EXPECTATIONS
1.  Come to class on time.
2.  Complete all  homework.  Even an attempt can earn some credit.
3.  Come prepared with your notebook, textbook and pen/pencil.  ( I will not supply them, even if this means that you have to take a zero on a quiz.)
4.  Be respectful of your peers and your teacher. (including a substitute)
5.  Trips to the lav should be at the beginning or end of class unless it is an absolute emergency.
6.  Participation in class is necessary.  You can't expect to learn a language if you don't use it!
7.  No iPods, cell phones or other electronic distractions allowed under ANY circumstances.
8.  I do not give locker passes for you to retrieve your materials. (including homework)

GRADING
1.All grades are a fraction.  For example a quiz could be out of 25 points.  A score of 21/25 means that you earned an 84%.  All these fractions are averaged together to find your grade.
2.  Homework is worth 5/5.  Partially completed homework earns partial credit. (I will not accept late homework. It is considered to be 0/5.  Even if it is done but left in your locker.
3.  Quizzes are typically worth between 20 and 45 points depending on the amount of material being quizzed.
4.  Tests are usually worth between 100 and 130 points depending on the amount of material in the chapter.
5.  All oral and writing assignments are assessed using the Amity World Language scoring rubrics.
6.  All projects come with a rubric that explains what is expected.
7.  UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO I GIVE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS.  Working hard and coming for extra help will help you to progress in my class.

EXTRA HELP
If you need extra help please see me to set up a time to meet.  Make sure you schedule with me in advance.  Some days I have meetings or conferences and I want to make sure that I can give you my full attention.  I am available to meet from the close of school until 2:40.  The only day I am not available is Fridays.  Also, feel free to see your counselor to set up a peer tutor.  Peer tutors are an often overlooked resource!
